Our refuge, recovery, employment and housing services overlap and build on one another to provide our guests with continuous and comprehensive support. Your generous gift helps provide the nearly 8,000 unhoused individuals who cross our threshold annually with critical refuge, recovery, employment and housing services. The study adds to a body of literature documenting how the fingerprints of climate change can be detected in events such as heat waves, droughts and wildfires. Expressive Art Therapy hosted inside our Margaret Stewart Lindsay Art Studio is one of our most popular services. By exploring self-expression, participants find new ways to gain personal insight and develop new coping skills. The creation or appreciation of art is helpful in exploring emotions, developing self-awareness, coping with stress, boosting self-esteem, and working on social skills.
We are currently seeking volunteers who have expertise in mental health, wellness, and other related fields to assist with programming. St. Francis House is the largest distributor of clothing to people experiencing homelessness in Boston. Every year we connect thousands of individuals with clean clothing through our Fresh Threads program. Through the program, we provide guests with everyday attire, brand-new undergarments, shoes, socks, winter gear and other essentials. We welcome volunteers with ways to enrich our services and participate in events like our Women’s Day celebrations in May.

Henry Evelyn Pierrepont, son of Hezekiah, and his wife, Anna Maria. Henry led his fellow heirs in establishing restrictive covenants for all of their inherited property. When Pierrepont died in 1838, his children inherited wide swaths of the family’s Brooklyn Heights land. These heirs started a decades-long process of divvying up the estate and parceling it out to other local developers and speculators. Pierrepont’s marketing of Brooklyn Heights as one of America’s first suburbs is conventional wisdom, found everywhere from scholarly opinion pieces to the historical markers lining the streets of today’s landmark district. Reports emerged early last year that St. Francis was selling its former campus to the Alexico Group, the developer of Manhattan’s “Jenga” building.

BALTIMORE -- The first cargo ship passed through a newly opened deep-water channel in Baltimore on Thursday after being stuck in the harbor since the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed four weeks ago. At this time, volunteers must volunteer within six months of being activated as a volunteer and then at least once a year, in order to remain active. All volunteers must be 18 years of age (or at least 16 years of age with the presence of a parent).
